“Small Wonders | Intimate Landscapes” with artist, Bill McLaughlin

Join us in welcoming local artist, Bill McLaughlin back to the library with some of his small works exploring the landscape through texture and color using a combination of various media including pastels, monotypes and linoprints.
Bill will give a casual talk on his works and process. His pieces will be on display at the library starting April 17th and will be available for viewing until May 31st during library hours.
His landscapes in this series were mostly inspired by the rivers, fields and wooded hills around his homestead in upstate New York but also draw from memories of Southwestern vistas on the high deserts of Utah and Arizona.
Regardless of the terrain or media used, the subject of these landscapes remains the horizon and the conversation between earth and sky on which we are forever eavesdropping.
Bill McLaughlin is a contemporary Tonalist landscape painter based in New Berlin. His work is largely influenced by the Tonalist painters of the 19th century, emphasizing our deep connection to Nature through mood and atmosphere.
April 17, 2025 at the Sherburne Public Library, 6:30pm
Refreshments will be served. This is a free event.
