Have you ever dreamed of publishing your own book? Then this is the event for you! I’m very excited about our upcoming Indie Author Day event, taking place on Saturday, October 8th from 11am – 3pm. This is a national event with many libraries across the country taking part. The purpose is to bring attention to local authors or wannabe authors and make a connection with the library. Authors, publishers and libraries together are a natural fit. Brian McDowell of Log Cabin Books will be there to speak about self publishing and Mike Tefft, author of “The Reluctant Captain”, will be speaking about his process of writing and publishing. The event will culminate with a 2pm with a Webcast or a digital gathering featuring a Q & A with writers, agents and other industry leaders. We’re looking for other writers who would like to speak, or do a reading or in some way promote writing and self publishing. Refreshments will be served. Contact me at the library ASAP! This free event will be open to everyone, so mark your calendars now!
